    Res Corporales

    (BG)

Todor Rachinski /a.k.a. res corporales/ is a representative of the Bulgarian experimental electronica scene and is jointly liable for the foundation of Jisatsuken - a Bulgarian netlabel presenting IDM and experimental electronic musicians.

In his younger years Todor Rachinski was heavily influenced by hip hop music we now tend to entitle "oldschool". Searching for even harder and faster beats, in the late 90-ties Rachinski encountered jungle and drum&bass, then sailed through then popular hard techno, and one day in 1999 stumbled across Autechre's Chiastic Slide. Since then Rachinski fell deeply in love with experimental and IDM music. Using his outdated PC, tape recorder and a hi-fi stereo system, in 1999 he began his first experiments with deconstructing his favourite beats to bits and combining them again into unusual rhythms. Using his IM moniker "res", in 2002 he released a promo EP on CD-R, where he had his "Cantilever" track remixed by several artists from Varna. This happened to be the foundation of the Varna-based netlabel called Jisatsuken. Since then Todor Rachinski has released another EP in 2004 and and LP in 2007, available on mp3 and CD-R, and has also participated in numerous compilation releases by various Bulgarian netlabels. Res corporales' music is distinctive for its experimental beats, rhythmic complexity and mainly dark moods. His music is almost never danceable, but elaborate and demanding attention.
